the water was freezing but miner is die hard when it comes to the beach

 

 ty, kirsten, and annika came to visit, we went to the ocean and stayed in the most beautiful house.

denali hung around the guide the whole time

we went to this really fun place called "ocean world" 

it was low key and super cool

highlights included:

petting a shark

learning that some fish live over 500 years

holding starfish

and the funnest seal/sea lion show

this is called the family tree, over 14 different trees are growing out of this one

elephant tree

cathedral tree, you can get married here...how cool is that

waiting for the sky trail, it was really fun

denali took this shot, and it was his idea

then we took the kids to "trees of mystery" while t and k enjoyed a jet boat tour

the pictures speak for themselves

it was amazing!!

and annika was a dream child

 we had promised the boys a faux camp out...

 so we could eat s'mores

 but roen wasn't feeling good so...

 we opted for the backyard.

and since we are really good parents we had roen eat some extra greens because he was under the weather

Birth.day

 the menu- home-made mac and cheese with steamed broccoli and parmesan knots. (all are fav's of the boys)

 the guest list- mom, dad, denali, miner, and of course roen

 pre-dinner excitement

 i was trying to let roen blow out his own candles. i think only a mother could hold a tray of lit cupcakes with one hand and hold off a very eager 3 yr old with the other.

 say it together now "aaaawwwhhhh how cute"

 um.....wow

 denali was "helping" roen open his loot

Denali crashed into Miners bike, but he rode it like this anyways....for days

 this is lake of the woods. it was still mostly frozen in the middle. 

but the boys got to throw rocks and that is the important part.

p.s. miner beat everyone

and the scariest park ever made.

sharp metal edges, gaps where kids or their body parts could fall through, 

and best of all lost of meth heads trolling around

 awesome

 marlo's visit also included a trip to see eden farm. a sweet little place 

where your childhood dreams of "horses everyday" come true.

Ben already posted about his birthday and our trip to crater lake. 

and that concludes our visit from marlo.
